Friendly Neighbors

You’re visiting a new neighborhood, where the locals are very friendly! Amber, Diana, Emma, and Gina are female, while Bill, Chris, and Fred are male. Four of the locals gave you interesting gifts when you talked to them - an artist’s palette, some binoculars, a compass, and a phone book, though all the gifts seemed a little strange. You recorded what they said, but you can’t quite remember who’s who or who gave you which gift… But you do remember that the neighborhood was colorful - each person lived in their own houses, which were blue, gray, green, orange, purple, red, and yellow. Your house is on the opposite side of the city, so you’ll have plenty of time to sort this out on the way home.

Everyone also mentioned what they did yesterday.
